About the Discount Calculator
This calculator estimates the price after a discount, the amount saved, the effective discount rate, optional extra coupon savings, tax after discount, and quantity-adjusted total due. It supports percent-off discounts and fixed amount-off coupons.
Percent off
A 10% discount on $45 saves $4.50 and leaves a $40.50 price before tax.
Fixed amount off
A $20 coupon on a $95 item leaves a $75 price before tax.
Stacked discounts
Extra coupons usually apply after the first discount, so combined savings may not equal simply adding the percentages.
How to use this calculator
Choose the discount type, enter the original price and discount value, then add optional sales tax, an additional coupon, and quantity. Review savings, effective percent off, final price, and total due.

Discount Calculator FAQ
Common questions about inputs, outputs, assumptions, and limitations.
What does a discount calculator estimate?
It estimates final price, savings, effective discount rate, tax after discount, and quantity-adjusted total.
What is percent off?
Percent off subtracts a percentage of the original price.
What is fixed amount off?
Fixed amount off subtracts a set dollar amount from the original price.
Do stacked discounts add together directly?
Not always. A second discount often applies after the first discount, so the effective savings can be lower than adding percentages.
Does sales tax apply before or after discount?
This page estimates sales tax after discount. Local tax rules can differ.
