FAQ
How do I calculate my running pace?
Divide your total time by the distance run. For example, finishing a 5K in 30 minutes gives a pace of 6:00 per kilometre (or 9:39 per mile).
What is a good running pace for beginners?
Most beginners run between 6–8 minutes per kilometre (10–13 min/mile). A good starting goal is to finish a 5K in under 40 minutes.
What race distances are included?
PRECISR covers 5K, 10K, half marathon (21.1 km), and full marathon (42.2 km), as well as any custom distance you enter.
Does pace account for elevation or terrain?
No — this calculator uses flat-ground pace. Real-world pace varies with hills, terrain, wind, and fatigue. Use GPS data from your runs for the most accurate pacing.
